For those of you who don't know, the Eagle Awards are "the comics industry's longest established awards" (their words!) and, what's more, they have two categories for webcomics. Hooray!
A couple of years ago we tried entering Broken Voice Comics in the Favourite Comics Related Website category and its flagship title Shades in the Favourite Web-Based Comic category. We weren't successful then but, hey, it's about time we tried again, right?!

Apparently this year's process will follow the "well known format". This means that, in each category, the judges will only look at the five comics which receive the most nominations. In practice, this means that we really do need every single one of you to vote. (Otherwise the award is going to go to one of those stale old gag-strips which has acquired thousands of readers, purely by virtue of having been around for over a decade!)
To vote, all you need to do is click on one of the Eagle Awards logos above and fill in the form. You don't have to enter something in every category; just complete your name, email address and country and then scroll down to the two categories we've entered. The Favourite Comics Related Website and the Favourite Web-Based Comic categories are both near the bottom of the form!
Many, many thanks in advance to every one of you who takes the time and trouble to nominate us. We really do appreciate it and - if you do get us into that top five - we'll think of something really special for you to celebrate!

Hmmm - well, I'm not sure what happened to these awards. I've been checking the official website since May but it all seems to have been very quiet since the nomination period ended. I suspect the Eagle awards may have died without telling anyone!
*sigh!* Another bastion of the British comics industry bites the dust!
On the plus side, Shades did win two of the Drunk Duck Awards we were hoping for, so I'll be posting the details of those in the DD Awards thread shortly!
